All of us recall the many important individuals who have supported, motivated and encouraged us during our lives. These people were our mentors and served as coaches and advocates helping us to become the people we are today. Much research is available which points to the tremendous benefits of mentoring, and in an effort to bring this positive aspect to Vacaville PAL I am excited to announce that Vacaville PAL was one of 133 PAL's across the nation to receive a Mentoring Grant through National PAL. This program will have a mandatory participation span of 11 months.

Are you an adult or a teen who would like to mentor? If you are interested please fill out a Mentor Application. We will be having a mentor training on MAY 27, 2010, 6:30-8:00pm at the Ulatis Community Center, where you will learn more about the program as well as the responsibilities of mentors. If you are unable to attend this training but still would like to mentor please contact, Amanda Davidson at 707-469-4004.

Are you a parent or youth interested in yourself or child to be a mentee in this program? Are you a community member, teacher or counselor who knows a youth that would benefit from having a mentor? We are accepting applications for mentees as well as requests for mentors for youth. We will be having a mentee training on JUNE 3, 2010, 6:30-8:00pm at the Ulatis Community Center. This training will go over the program as well as some important materials for the youth. If you are unable to attend this training but still would like to be a mentee please contact, Amanda Davidson at 707-469-4004.
